Maternal & Child Health
Every family wants the best for their baby. Every family has questions and worries. Every family needs support and information. The VNA can help.
Our nursing staff offers support to women during pregnancy through home visits that can answer questions and provide childbirth education.
After the baby is born, we offer postpartum care, including an assessment of the mother and the baby, breastfeeding support and family adjustment.
If more skilled nursing care is required, such as IV therapy, blood pressure monitoring, nutritional information, or linking families to other necessary community supports, our staff has the expertise to provide these services.
We can help you find the answers to questions you might have.
- Is my baby eating enough?
- How do I know if breastfeeding is going well?
- What can I do to keep my baby healthy?
- Is my baby gaining weight?
- When should I call the doctor?
- What if I get postpartum depression?
- How will I know what to do when my baby is fussy?
- How can I help my older kids adjust to a new baby?
- How do I find childcare if I need it?
- Am I recovering from the birth the way I should?
