The Vermont Respite House never closes. Our front porch is filled with rocking chairs and invites residents and their loved ones to take in the fresh air and the sound of the wind chimes moving in the breeze.
-

Volunteer musicians are frequent visitors to our House. Our residents can enjoy the music in our sitting area or from their private rooms.
-

Volunteers prepare breakfast and lunch cooked to order seven days a week. A chef guides our dinner plans. Our spacious kitchen allows for many helping hands.
-

Dozens of volunteers and friends bring baked goods and other homemade treats for our residents and their families to enjoy throughout the day and night.
-

The well-lit living room is a perfect place to rest and enjoy a book from our library or read the daily paper. Overstuffed chairs make long visits comfortable.
-

During the colder months, visitors and residents can enjoy conversation and games by the welcoming fireplace.
-

Vermont Respite House has 13 private rooms with baths. Each room contains a pull-out sofa that guests can use for overnight visits or for longer stays.
-

Every resident can enjoy birdwatching right from their own bed. Each room has a well-stocked bird feeder immediately outside its windows.
-

Volunteers and donors have helped bring a gorgeous landscape plan to life. Gardens and patios surround the House.
-

The grounds help families feel right at home during extended visits.
-

A non-denominational chapel is always available for individuals and families seeking a place of quiet and reflection.
-

Thank you for taking our tour. Vermont Respite House is a unique place. What makes Vermont Respite House truly special, however, is the care and support that our staff and volunteers can offer every resident 24 hours a day. No picture can capture the warmth that compassionate staff, caring friends and devoted loved ones bring to our House. You are welcome to take a tour in person as the need arises.
